Albufeira

Albufeira is the premier tourist town in the Algarve and it is easy to understand why. It caters for international tourists with stunning golden, sandy beaches, miles of beautiful red stoned cliffs and rugged coves.

Albufeira “Old Town” with it’s pretty cobbled streets offers many restaurants, bars and shops in a very relaxed  and  family atmosphere.  However, if it is nightlife that you are after, the restaurants bars and clubs of the famous “Strip” will keep you up until the early hours.  Albufeira marina offers more night life, restaurants and bars as well as regular boat trips to explore the wonderful coastline.

There are several beaches in or close to Albufeira;  Praia dos Pescadores (Fishermans Beach) is in the heart of the Old Town, with Praia do Tunel (Albufeira Beach) right alongside.  Amongst others there are Praia d'Oura and Santa Eulalia to the eastern side of the town.

Three kilometers to the east of Albufeira is the quieter resort of Olhos d’Agua.  Nearby beaches include Praia da Falesia, probably one of the most beautiful in this part of the Algarve. It’s long, at over 8 km, and is flanked by red cliffs.
It runs eastwards, all the way to Vilamoura. Another beach, Santa Eulalia is a gentle beach, ideal for young children.

Albufeira offers far more than just sun and sea. With golf courses designed by international masters, water sports and other outdoor activities such as walking, horse-riding, bird watching and cycling  the Algarve has plenty for you to do all year round.

If you are staying in Albufeira it isn’t usually necessary to hire a car as there is so much to do within easy walking distance or by the tourist train that runs between the “Strip” and the “Old Town”. Taxis are plentiful and if you want to venture further afield to a water park or other attraction we can help arrange transportation for you.
